Description
In response to severe flooding, All Hands Volunteers launched the Tennessee Recovery Coordination Center (TN RCC) located in Antioch, Tennessee. Similar to Project Rhode Island, All Hands staff focused on optimizing inter-agency communication, which offered a fast and efficient response to flood survivors. In order to enhance communications between responding volunteer agencies, All Hands created an online database, compiling resident requests and matching them with appropriate agencies. During RCC operations All Hands’ volunteers compiled, tracked and coordinated more than 1,000 work requests from across the state, while concurrently setting up an internal organizational infrastructure, which enabled the TN RCC to continue its operations after the proejct. We also tracked homeowners who were in need of rebuild assistance.
